Our most memorable Spanish adventures have taken place on the beautiful island of Lanzarote. Known for its dramatic volcanic soil, white-washed villages, and year round sunshine, it is the perfect destination for families who love a mix of relaxation and exploration. Lanzarote by Car: The Ultimate Island Road Trip
While Lanzarote has fantastic resorts, we believe the only way to truly see the island is by hiring a car. The roads are well maintained, and the scenery changes from Mars like craters to turquoise coastlines in a matter of minutes.

Timanfaya National Park: A must visit. Driving through the Fire Mountains feels like being on another planet.

Mirador del Río: We drove to the northernmost tip of the island to this spectacular lookout point. The views across to the island of La Graciosa are arguably the best in the Canaries.

Teguise Market: Every Sunday, the historic town of Teguise turns into a giant open air market. We loved wandering the cobblestone streets and picking up local Spanish crafts.
Costa Teguise: The Perfect Family Base
During our time on the island, we spent a lot of time in Costa Teguise. It’s a fantastic, breezy resort town that strikes the perfect balance between relaxed beach vibes and great local amenities.

Las Cucharas Beach: This is the heart of the town. Whether you're watching the windsurfers or just enjoying the golden sands, it's a great spot for a family day out.

The Pueblo Marinero: This square is full of charm, we loved visiting the evening markets and grabbing dinner at one of the many authentic tapas bars.

The Promenade: One of our favourite things to do was walk the long, sun drenched promenade that connects the different bays. It’s flat, accessible, and offers beautiful sea views the entire way.
